Lasertec Corporation (hereinafter "Lasertec", Yokohama, President: Yaichiro Watakabe) and Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbH (hereinafter "Carl Zeiss MicroImaging", Jena, Germany, President: Ulrich Simon) entered into an OEM agreement in the material microscopy field. The agreement enables Lasertec to manufacture and deliver to Carl Ziess MicroImaging the new product that has been developed by taking advantages of the strengths of both companies. Now Carl Zeiss MicroImaging sells the new product under Carl Zeiss MicroImaging brand and Carl Zeiss MicroImaging product name.
Carl Zeiss has been leading the global optics industry with its numerous epoch-making technologies and its high quality since 19th century when Carl Zeiss revolutionized microscopy design. Today, Carl Zeiss MicroImaging under Carl Zeiss Group takes the responsibility of microscope business and is known for its high-end and routine microscope solutions, ranging from small stereo microscopes up to high-end research platforms such as confocal Laser-Scanning-Microscopes.
The new product, [Digital Real Color Confocal Scanning Microscope, Axio CSM 700 (CSM stands for Confoccal Scanning Microscope)], that Lasertec delivers under OEM agreement consists of microscope body developed on the basis of technologies and experience Lasertec has cultivated for many years, with high quality optics of Carl Zeiss being mounted. The new product will be sold through global sales network of Carl Zeiss MicroImaging.
The [Axio CSM 700] from Carl Zeiss addresses the growing market need for precise topographic measurements. The new system is easy-to-handle and can be used not only in lab environment, but also in rough environment, such as production floors. By commercialization of this new system, Carl Zeiss aims to become the solution of choice for industrial customers in material microscopy.
