Sales Strengthening for Semiconductor Related Tools in the Greater China Market Lasertec Corporation and Hermes-Epitek Corp. enter into Representation Agreement

Lasertec Corporation ("Lasertec", Yokohama, Japan, President: Dr. Yaichiro WATAKABE) entered into Representation Agreement with Hermes-Epitek Corp. ("Hermes", Hsinchu, Taiwan, Chairman & CEO:Mr. Archie Hwang) effective on August 1st 2008, in the aim to strengthen sales activities and also to enhance service of semiconductor related tools in the Greater China market (Taiwan, China and Singapore). Semiconductor related tools of Lasertec have already been achieving satisfactory results in the Taiwan Market with MATRICS Series Photomask inspection systems and other product series. Lasertec, with the Representation Agreement signed this time, will further explore customers for new products such as WASAVI series (Patterned Wafer Warpage/Stress Inspection System) and enhance service activity in the Greater China market.

Service currently performed by Marketech International Corp. will be transferred to Hermes by December 31st 2008 and quite satisfactory service and also technical support will be provided. Hermes is a specialized trading company of semiconductor related and FPD related equipments and tools with highest sales, technical and support capabilities in this business field.

Also, HERMES MICROVISION and Advanced Ion Beam Technology Inc., the affiliated companies of Hermes, develop and manufacture E-beam Inspection Tools and Ion Implanter, and the Hermes Group is highly acclaimed for its high-level service and technical support backed by its high technical capabilities.
Upon signing off of this Representation Agreement, Lasertec expects to increase its sales amount with deeper customer satisfaction in Taiwan that is the most important market followed by China and Singapore.
